Foreclosure

Mortgage Foreclosure

In Illinois a residential or commercial foreclosure case is a Chancery (CH) case. On October 1, 2014, Champaign County began the Residential Foreclosure Mandatory Mediation Program (Administrative Order 2014-01). The program mandates that prior to any foreclosure proceedings in Court both parties must participate in a mediation program. If you have received a summons to appear for a Pre-Mediation hearing at the Courthouse in the Self-Help room, you will meet with mediator in an attempt to help resolve your case before foreclosure proceedings begin in court. If you receive a summons and fail to appear, the Petitioner (Bank or Mortgage Company) can petition the Court for a Judgement of Foreclosure
